The Rural Cupboard Food Bank is a non-profit charitable organization which pledges to operate the food bank using the following principles and guidelines:

Principles & Guidelines

We provide 7 days of food per month as well as 1 week of school lunches to rural clients in the outlying municipalities surrounding Thunder Bay. Hunger relief is the priority of our organization.

We treat each client requesting help with the utmost courtesy, respect, and confidentiality. We serve those requiring assistance regardless of race, sexual preference, religion, or source of income.

We will provide the most nutritious hamper possible to all ages taking into consideration special health requirements.

Area Served

The Rural Cupboard Food Bank provides hunger relief for people living in the rural areas around Thunder Bay. This wide area includes all the incorporated and unincorporated municipalities from Pass Lake in the northeast, the US border in the south, and Upsala in the west.

We are the only Food Bank that provides this service to the rural residents who struggle to put food on the table.
